LOCAL MUSICIAN SELLS FIRST CD FOR £1000

Budding local rock star Max Wildwood has come up with a novel way to promote his new album. The very first copy is on sale for £1000.

Highly collectible CDs can sell for £10,000 to £20,000. For someone who loves music and likes a high-risk investment, Max’s CD could turn out to be a bargain.

The money will be spent on his upcoming tour as he widens his fanbase from East Anglia to the UK, to the universe and beyond.

Max was born in Colchester and learnt his first few guitar chords from his dad. He grew up near Framlingham, a few miles from Ed Sheeran, though they have yet to meet. Like Ed, Max also has Yorkshire roots: one of his ancestors is the Yorkshire composer Handel Parker, who wrote the famous hymn Deep Harmony.

Max knew what he wanted to do when he saw another Framlingham resident, Tommy Emmanuel, on stage. The Grammy Award winning guitarist and songwriter was a neighbour and family friend. Tommy gave Max his first real guitar. From then on, there was no stopping him.

Max's life is full of unusual incidents that inspire his music and fuel his live performances with energy and fun. His new album “ Best Thing Ever” shares its title with his new single, about his love-at-first-sight for a barmaid in Cambridge. He wrote the song after arranging their first date - before she cancelled it.

He has built a following in East Anglia with regular gigs and festival appearances. He's in demand for weddings, birthdays and corporate parties. His singles “Dumped On Facebook” and “I’m Not Saying” have been played on radio stations around the world. "Best Thing Ever" is already getting radio play in America.

Max is a stunning guitarist and talented entertainer. His music ranges from upbeat rock and pop songs to thoughtful ballads, dreamy flights of fancy, comic songs and instrumentals. Filled with pathos and humour, his lyrics are clever and original.

The new album is a collection of 12 original songs, written, recorded and produced by Max himself. He also plays all the instruments in the sometimes lavish arrangements.

The official album launch will be held at The Swan & Hedgehog pub in Ipswich, on Tuesday March 4th at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome. “Best Thing Ever” will be on general release from Wednesday March 5th, available on his
website, maxwildwood.com, and at retail outlets including Music World in Ipswich.

If the reviews of his fans are anything to go by, Max has a big future. That £1000 on the very first album of his career could be money well spent. He will certainly spend it well.
